Abstract
1415748 Launders NIPPON CRUCIBLE CO Ltd 9 July 1973 [8 July 1972] 32647/73 Heading F4B A furnace runner for transferring molten metal, e.g. pig iron, or molten slag from a metal furnace such as a blast furnace comprises a runner body 2 which is formed of a refractory material containing a carbonaceous binder, e.g. tar, resin or pitch, and which is lined with a refractory material 3 containing a clay binder. The thickness of the layer 3 is less than that of the material 2 and is in the range of 30-150 mm. Examples of suitable refractory materials are quoted.
