Abstract

1494931 Liquid storage bucket for steam vacuum cleaners PARISE & SONS Inc 3 June 1975 [3 June 1974] 23959/75 Heading A4F A dirty liquid storage bucket for a water- and detergent-spraying vacuum cleaner for cleaning rugs and other floor surfaces, comprises mating top and bottom cup-shaped members 22, 26 mounted together with an air-tight seal, e.g. provided by O-ring 40, a riser tube 20 communicating the interior of the bucket with an aperture 24 in the base of the member 22 and extending above the top thereof, the upper end of the riser tube 20 being received in an aperture 44 in a strut 42 extending across the top member 26, and an L-shaped connector 30 extending through the side wall in the member 26 such that when a vacuum pump is connected to the riser tube 20, dirty liquid and air are drawn in through the pipe 30 and impinge on the inside of the top member 26, the liquid running down the sides of the bucket past an annular shelf 38 to collect in the bottom of member 22 without entering the riser tube 20. The top member 26 may be of moulded transparent plastics material.
