Abstract

1386055 Suction cleaners ELECTROLUX AB 30 Aug 1973 [22 Sept 1972 27 April 1973] 40901/73 Heading A4F A suction cleaning apparatus for floors comprises a cyclone separator 16 through which dust-laden air or liquid is drawn into a container 11 by at least one motor-fan unit 15, the air outlet 20 of the separator communicating via a horizontal substantially flat circular filter 23 with the inlet of the/or each motor-fan unit 15, and the separator 16 and the unit or units 15 being disposed in the container 11 below the filter 23. In the embodiment illustrated in Fig.3 two motor-fan units are provided each cooled by a separate air-flow via channels 31, 32 Figs.4 and 5 (not shown). The filter 23 may be of glass fibres, and the air drawn therethrough by the units 15 is discharged via a sound absorber (37) through louvres 38. In another embodiment the outlet of the cyclone separator 16 extends as a viser conduit 64 Fig.6 (not shown) through an aperture (66) in the filter 23, and the air-flow paths through the units 15 are arranged differently. To facilitate emptying of the container 11 an angular projection 74 Fig. 10 (not shown) is provided thereon for engaging the edge of a toilet pan over which the apparatus can be tilted.
