Abstract
1494593 Acoustic transducers T SAWAFUJI 12 Feb 1976 05643/76 Heading H4J An acoustic transducer comprises a diaphragm with electric conductors thereon clamped at its edges between a pair of magnetic discs having their centre portions of one polarity and their peripheral portions of the opposite polarity. The transducer may be a microphone, earphone, headphone or telephone. The diaphragm is a polyethylene film 15 with copper or aluminium conductors 14 printed or vacuum evaporated thereon. The conductors on opposite faces of the diaphragm are interconnected through the centre of the disc by an eyelet 23. The diaphragm is rim clamped by nickel plated copper terminal rings 21, 22 and insulated by rubber bonded fibre packing washers 9 from the ferrite magnet discs 7, 8. The assembly is enclosed in a casing comprising two screens 24 and a metal or plastics perimeter wall 25 the top edge of which is bent or spun inwardly after the components have been inserted.
