Abstract

1494004 Mooring vessels S HEIEN 2 May 1975 18560/75 Heading B7S [Also in Division B8] A combined mooring and liquid transfer arrangement comprises an offshore production platform or other structure having a below water portion 1 on the sea bed 2 and a portion 3 above sea level. A nylon or other floating hawser 7 is connected between the portion 1 and a floating buoy 9 preferably with an interposed steel wire 6 and a submerged buoy 8. One end of a floating hose 10, the other end of which is connected to the port 3, is also connected to the buoy 9 from which a hauling wire 13 extends to an end buoy 11 having a claw to support the hose 10. The buoy 11 can thus be hauled aboard a ship 14 by a crane 15 for connection of the hawser 7 and hose 10. When not in use both the hawser 7 and hose 10 can be taken aboard the port 3 by a rope 16 so as to protect them from sea action.
