Abstract

1,246,991. Raising anchors. NEDERLANDSE MAATSCHAPPIJ VOOR WERKEN BUITENGAATS (NETHERLANDS OFFSHORE CO.) N.V., and BUREAU WIJSMULLER N.V. 26 Nov., 1968 [27 Nov., 1967], No. 56106/68. Heading B7S. An anchor 2 attachable by chain 3 to a ship to be moored, is raisable from the sea bed by a buoy 6 provided with hauling means attached to the anchor by chain 5 and cable 4. The hauling means in the described embodiment is a differential pulley one sheave of which can be coupled by a cable 14 to a tug while the other sheave carries chain 5. The buoy 6 is shaped as shown so that its buoyancy increases progressively as it is immersed by winding in chain 5. Floats 15, 16 facilitate picking up cable 14.
