Abstract

1493920 Up-and-over door operating mechanism WESTLAND ENGS Ltd 20 Jan 1975 [18 Oct 1973] 48717/73 Heading E2M In an up-and-over door arrangement a door closure member 10 which moves from a substantially vertical closed position (Figure 1, not shown) upwardly to an overhead open position shown in Figure 2 so that a part of the door closure member projects from the door opening to form a canopy 24, the closure member 10 is provided with rollers 22 mounted at either side of the upper part thereof for co-operation with substantially horizontally disposed guide tracks 23 arranged to project into the building in which the assembly is installed, the door closure member 10 being counterbalanced by a spring actuated lever arm 12 during the opening movement thereof and latch means 25, 27 for holding the door closure member 10 positively in the open position. The latch means comprises spring-loaded latch bolts 25 adapted to engage with keeper plates 27 on the guide tracks 23 and adapted to be released by tension being applied to a cable 28.
