Abstract

1493401 Valves ALLEN WEST HOLDING CO Ltd 28 Feb 1975 [26 Sept 1974] 41955/74 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] A multi-way axial flow valve has at least two main ways A, B and comprises fixed and movable members 1, 2 which co-operate to open the ways selectively in accordance with their relative positions, there being at least one bypass way a which is open in at least one valve position and is not open when all main ways are open. There is at least one further position in which all main ways are closed. Each by-pass way has a cross-section substantially less than that of any main way and there may be more than one by-pass way. The valve may be used to control flow in a heat transfer system having two or more parallel sub-circuits, the by-pass maintaining constant flow through the pump and heater/cooler irrespective of the number of circuits being supplied.
