Abstract

Laminar springs.-Auxiliary suspension means for vehicles comprises a casing 3 mounted upon and carried by a suspension spring 7 of the vehicle, a bearing 2 for the axle 1 fitted in the casing and adapted to slide vertically therein, and springs 4, 5 or the like for supporting the bearing in the casing. The bearing may be adapted to swivel to prevent lateral movement of the axle from subjecting the spring 7 to torsion. Screws 6 may be provided to regulate the tension of the springs 4, 5 and suitable elastic or compressible means, such as pneumatic means of the cylinder- and-piston type, may be used instead of the springs 4, 5. The casing is shown mounted between two half springs, but may be mounted above or below the suspension spring.
