Abstract

1491476 Floating roof for a storage tank WHESSOE Ltd 18 April 1975 [20 May 1974] 22494/74 Heading E1T In a floating roof for a liquid storage tank which is of dish-shaped configuration buoyancy is maintained by a series of hollow beams 3 which radially extend from the periphery to a central connecting ring 4 to thereby impart to the deck a constant drainage slope. Drain water is fed through passages 6 in the beams to a central drain 5. The beams may be subdivided by partitions 8 and connected to a peripheral portion 2 or a rim, see Figs. 5 and 6, (not shown). Vents 12 support legs 11, inspection manholes 9, 10 may also be provided. The roof may be made of aluminium, wood, fibreglass, plastics or combinations thereof.
