1490232 Solvent mixtures J K BRUNNER 22 Oct 1974 [22 Oct 1973] 45683/74 Heading C3P [Also in Division C4] A mixture of esters of straight-chain C 2 to C 6 fatty acids and aliphatic alcohols with 3 or 4 carbon atoms, the esters of each of the five straight-chain C 2 to C 6 fatty acids being present in an amount of at least 10% by weight of the mixture can be used to replace up to 80% by weight of the glycol ether content of a solvent for a film-forming composition. Preferred esters are those of propyl, n-butyl and isobutyl alcohols. The solvent may be thinned with water and the ethers are preferably the methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl glycol and diglycol ethers. The solvent may also contain a methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl ester of t-hydroxycaproic acid.
