Abstract
1,210,190. Propylene oxide. DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT. 3 Sept., 1969 [18 Sept., 1968], No. 43516/69. Heading C2C. Propylene oxide is continuously separated from a mixture comprising propylene oxide, propylene, acetic acid and optionally further constituents, by initially separating propylene and propylene oxide from the other constituents by distillation at elevated pressure in the presence of a solvent with a lower boiling point than that of acetic acid and then separating the propylene oxide from the propylene by further distillation. Suitable solvents are, for example, ketones and esters e.g. methyl and ethyl acetate.
