Abstract

PURPOSE: Succinylsuccinic acid diesters are prepared in high yield by the condensation of succinic acid dialkylesters in a hydrocarbon or an alcohol and dimethylsulfoxide as solvents in the presence of an alkali metal alcoholate, followed by the netralization.
