Abstract

1489870 Measuring fluid-flow EMI Ltd 28 Jan 1975 [3 Nov 1973] 51141/73 Heading G1R A fluid flowmeter sensing arrangement comprises first and second bluff bodies 106, 109 spaced apart over at least part of their cross-tube length, the overall length of the bodies and gap in the direction of flow being no greater than the height of the upstream body 106 as seen in Fig. 1(a). The tube is rectangular in section and may be tapered in the region of the bodies, Figs 2 and 3 (not shown). Sensors e.g. strain gauges may be arranged in the gap or downstream of body 109.
