Abstract

1489713 Securing stators SIEMENS AG 18 Dec 1975 [21 March 1975] 51971/75 Heading H2A A dynamo-electric machine has a laminated stator assembly formed as a unit 6 which includes and is held together by a pair of assembly rings 9, 10, the stator assembly 6 being axially movable within a housing 2 of the machine during assembly thereof, and the stator is positioned in a centred location relative to the machine axis, with rings 9, 10 located within and connected to annular walls 3, 4, respectively, of housing 2, by means of centring blocks 20 secured to rings 9, 10 and associated with locating blocks 18 which fit in recesses 15 in walls 3, 4 and are a loose fit in opposing recesses 16 in rings 9, 10, each block 18 in wall 3 being aligned in the axial direction of the machine with a respective block 18 in the wall 4. The wall 3 and ring 9 are formed from the same plate which is cut along a circle 13 whereat the recesses 15, 16 are formed. Wall 4 and ring 10 are produced in the same way. After blocks 18 are fixed in the recesses 15 in walls 3, 4, the stator assembly 6 is axially pushed into the housing so that blocks 18 are loosely received in recesses 16 in rings 9, 10. Stator assembly 6 is then centred and L-shaped centring blocks 20 are welded to rings 9, 10 in abutment with blocks 18 to define the centred position. The stator assembly 6 is then removed from housing 2 by first shifting it axially rightwards to remove blocks 20 from abutment with blocks 18, then assembly 6 is rotated so that the blocks 18 in wall 4 align with auxiliary recesses (17), Fig. 2 (not shown), located in wall 9 between, and of the same size as, the recesses 16 in wall 9, whereupon stator assembly 6 can be completely removed by a further rightward axial movement. The stator is subsequently wound and reintroduced into its centred position in housing 1, plates (23), Fig. 2, then being screwed to ring 10 and wall 4 to define the axial position of the stator assembly. Each block 18 in wall 3 may be interconnected to the axially aligned block 18 in wall 4.
