Abstract

1489621 Lampholders LUCAS ELECTRICAL Ltd 17 Feb 1975 [1 March 1974] 9259/74 Heading H2E A lamp assembly (e.g. Fig. 1, not shown) comprises a body (10) carrying a plurality of contact areas (13) and a plurality of bulbholders (12) each of which comprises at least one contact (16) abutting a respective contact area and wherein each contact comprises a connector which is engaged with an electrical terminal on the bulbholder. As described, the connector 17 is a sleeve which slides on to a terminal 18 which is itself an extension of contact 20, and the connection is surrounded by an insulating sleeve 21. The contact areas may be rivets as shown or may be clips (22, Figs. 5, 6, not shown) having barbed tags which pass through holes in the body. Leads, having bared ends 15, from a connector unit (11, Fig. 1), which is connected to the supply, are either clamped under the rivets when they are inserted into the body or, when clips are used, may be crimped and welded to the clip before it is inserted into the body.
