Abstract

1489395 Linkwork BAKER PERKINS HOLDINGS Ltd 18 Nov 1975 [26 Nov 1974] 51197/74 Heading F2K [Also in Divisions B8 and B4] In a packaging machine (see Division B8) a packaging web carried on continuously rotating discs 15 is periodically severed by a knife 40 mounted on an arm 39 pivoted at the other end 41 to another arm 37 on a fixed pivot 38. The necessary motion is imparted to these arms by axially spaced cams 42, 43 on shaft 44, cam 43 bearing against a follower 50 carried by a bell-crank 47 slidable in a slot 49 of arm 39. Knife 40 enters a slot 54 in a sealing wall 16.
