Abstract

1488168 Line-by-line photo-copier CANON KK 27 Sept 1974 [27 Sept 1973] 42183/74 Heading G2A A line-by-line electro-photo-copier employing a stationary platen, an illuminating lamp and a first scanning mirror which move at the same speed, and a second scanning mirror which moves at half said speed, also employs an electrical power conductor to the lamp having one end fixed, the other end moving at the same speed as the lamp, and an intermediate part passing round a guide member which moves at the same speed as the second mirror, the arrangement being such that the conductor is maintained at constant tension during the scanning movement. As shown, a conductor 59 is connected at one end to a mirror 51 (and lamp 58 (Fig. 5, (not shown) and at the other end to a stationary point 60, and passes round an electrically insulated pulley 61 connected to a mirror 45. The conductor may be of circular Fig. 7a (not shown) or flat Figs. 7b and c (not shown) cross-section. The ratio of the diameters of the pulley and a circular conductor may be at least 22:1. As shown, a single pulley cord 48 and drive pulley 49 are employed. Alternatively, there may be two pulley cords and corresponding drive pulleys, one having half the peripheral speed of the other. The pulleys may be integral Fig. 2, (not shown) or connected by gear teeth Fig. 4, (not shown).
