Abstract

1487998 Air filter for I.C. engines CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 1 Nov 1974 [1 Nov 1973] 50790/73 Heading BID [Also in Division F1] A filter for an I.C. engine comprises a container containing an annular filter element 19 and a condenser chamber 20 containing wire mesh 25. In use of the embodiment shown air introduced through inlet 18 is passed inwardly through filter element 19 and discharged through one end thereof to an outlet (not shown) leading to a carburettor (not shown). Oil fumes from the engine rocker cover (not shown) are passed into condenser chamber 20, the condensed oil being returned to the rocker cover and the gas being discharged to a space upstream (or downstream) of the element 19. The container 16 and wall 21 may be made of metal or plastics.
