1487831 Post-tensioned concrete PARAISTEN KALKKI OY-PARGAS KALK AB 24 Sept 1974 [25 Sept 1973] 41568/74 Heading E1W A post-tensioned beam or slab comprises a number of units (e.g. E 1 , F,) arranged end-to-end, at least one intermediate unit, e.g. E 1 , having a straight, enclosed duct, e.g. e14, therethrough and an end unit, e.g. F 1 , having a duct, e.g. f14, adjoining the straight duct e14 but deviating in direction from that of the straight duct. Preferably the ducts are circular in the intermediate units, and widen out at their ends into a rectangular or square form (at 8). The beams may have different longitudinal elevational profiles. In the three lowest ducts of the embodiment shown 0.5 mm. dia. steel wires may be employed, with 5.0 mm. dia. rods being employed in the upper two ducts.
