Abstract

1487518 Photographic silver halide emulsion containing colour couplers EASTMAN KODAK CO 4 March 1975 [4 March 1974] 8901/74 Heading G2C [Also in Divisions C2 and C4] A photographic material comprises a support bearing at least one photographic emulsion layer containing a colourless cyan-dye forming coupler of the Formula:- where each of R and R<SP>1</SP> is 1-8C alkyl; and n is 1-6, and a coloured cyan-dye forming coupler of the Formula: where A is B is H or COOR<SP>6</SP>; R<SP>2</SP> is 1-6C alkyl; each of R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> is 2-6C alkyl; R<SP>5</SP> is 1-4C alkyl; R<SP>6</SP> is 1-8C alkyl; and M is a photographically inert cation. The coloured compound derived from the naphthylazo-phenoxy group is subsequently washed out of the processed material. The weight ratio of colourless to coloured coupler may be 2À5:1 to 3À5:1.
