Abstract

1286688 Photographic coloured hydroxynaphthamide colour couplers KONISHIROKU PHOTO INDUSTRY CO Ltd 22 Dec 1969 [20 Dec 1968] 62479/69 Heading G2C [Also in Divisions C2 and C4] A light-sensitive silver halide emulsion contains, as coloured cyan coupler, a compound of the formula I:- where x is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4, y is 0 or 1, R 1 is phenyl, C 4-15 alkyl or alkenyl, alkyl-substituted phenyl or phenoxyphenyl, alkylsuccinimido or alkoxycarbonylalkoxycarbonyl, and R 2 is optionally substituted aryl or aralkyl. The emulsion may also contain a colourless cyan coupler such as 1 -hydroxy-N-[delta-(2,4-di(tertiaryamyl)phenoxy)- butyl-2-naphthamide. A light-sensitive photographic element comprises a support carrying a layer of such an emulsion. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1211651.
