Abstract

1486639 Iron-on inlays CARL FREUDENBERG KG 28 Nov 1974 [22 Dec 1973] 51639/74 Heading B2E [Also in Division B5] Iron-on inlay material comprises a woven, knitted or non-woven fabric carrying thermoplastic adhesive on one face, the fabric consisting at least partially of heat-shrinkable synthetic fibres which suffer a length decrease of at least 10% of the initial fibre length under the influence of heat and/or steam within the temperature range of 40‹C to 150‹C, whereby ironing the inlay material onto a suitable fabric results in a laminate which is bent or curved, the inlay material being on the inside of the curve. The fibres will not be pre-shrunk or will only be incompletely pre-shrunk, and may be polyolefine, polyamide, polyester, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinylchloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polyacrylate, polyurethane and mixtures of these, provided they have the shrinking property specified. The fabric may contain 2-40% of the heatshrinkable synthetic fibres. More than 50% of the fabric fibres may be non-shrinkable and these may be smooth or crimped and may be of polyamide.
