1486514 Discharge lamp ORIGINAL HANAU QUARZLAMPEN GmbH 27 Jan 1975 [5 March 1974] 3463/75 Heading H1D In a spectral lamp, line free below 350 nm., containing H or D, with heated cathode 3, ring anode 4 and discharge-limiting diaphragm 7, the stability of the discharge to variations in voltage and gas pressure is improved by the addition of 1/5 to 1/3 parts by volume of Kr to the H or D. The Kr takes no part in the discharge, its excitation and ionization voltage being higher than those of H and D; the lamp voltage depends on the partial pressure of H or D, but the type of discharge depends on the total pressure.
