Abstract

1484687 Displays JAEGER 13 Dec 1974 [14 Dec 1973] 54102/74 Heading G4H A selective numerical display system comprises a switch arranged to cause the simultaneous display of the numerical valve of one of a plurality of parameters and of its respective units of measurement. In a vehicle, a manual switch selects one of a plurality of condition sensors to feed a signal (provided in frequencysignificant form by a respective evaluation circuit) to a counter which counts for a predetermined time and supplies the count via a memory and decoder to a numerical display. The switch also energizes a display respective to the selected sensor to indicate the units of measurement involved in the displayed count. All the sensor outputs are also converted to voltages which are supplied to respective threshold circuits to detect any excessive value (the threshold values being provided by adjustable potentiometers, one of which, relating to vehicle speed, is controllable by the vehicle driver using a manual control). Those threshold circuits detecting excessive values actuate relays to operate respective audible/visual alarms, and to cause the excessive input of highest priority to be selected for the displays in place of that selected manually.
