Abstract
148,441. Zeppelin-Werke Ges. June 16, 1917, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Boats adapted to run on land.-For transferring seaplanes to and from land, detachable wheelunits are secured to the floats in such a manner as to transmit stresses only to the framework of the floats. Each wheel-unit comprises a pair of wheels with a buoyant yoke J<2> which may be hauled into position by tackle and secured astride the top of the float. The unit is preferably raised by a derrick, as shown, to prevent accidental damage to the float in a rough sea. The unit may be secured to lugs on the float stays by conical bolts, and longitudinal stresses may be taken by brackets on the main beams of the floats.
