Abstract

1483637 Film developing apparatus XEROX CORP 12 Nov 1974 [23 Nov 1973] 48997/74 Heading G2X Developing apparatus for processing a web of dry film by heating the film to or above a predetermined threshold developing temperature comprises a station 18 which is movable laterally of the film 26 to and from a position in which heated platens 30, 34 of the station are disposed on either side of the film, the platen 34 being movable from the open position shown to a closed position, Fig. 3 (not shown), in which the platen 34 engages the non emulsion side of the film and the platen 30 although being out of contact with the film maintains the film at a constant temperature. The station 18 is mounted on a track 20 for movement by a mechanism (24) connected to a motor (22), Fig. 1 (not shown). The film is advanced and processed in discrete increments corresponding to the size of the film frames. The platen 34 is operated by a solenoid mechanism 38, and the platens are electrically heated to the same temperature. The apparatus may be operated manually or automatically.
