Abstract
1483119 Cigarette packaging apparatus; shoots at hoppers AMF Inc 4 Nov 1974 [13 Nov 1973] 47673/74 Headings B8C and B8S Cigarettes are formed into rectangular parallelepipedal batches for subsequent packaging by feeding the cigarettes under gravity from a hopper 8 to a batch forming zone 1 via channels C1-C8 of which channels C1-C6 deliver cigarettes in a horizontal direction, while channels C7, C8 deliver them vertically, into zone 1. The cigarettes come to rest in pockets at the ends of the channels C1-C8 in the pattern of a batch, and are displaced through a shaped head wall plate 9 by a reciprocable ejector to pass through a convergent compression duct 3.
