Abstract

1483028 Master-slave flip-flops ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 18 Nov 1975 [21 Nov 1974] 47429/75 Heading H3T [Also in Division G4] In a frequency divider circuit comprising master and slave flip-flops 5, 5<SP>1</SP> and 6, 6<SP>1</SP> respectively, the Q, Q signals are fed back through inverters 4, 4<SP>1</SP> to control gates 2, 3; 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP> which steer the input pulses applied at C to the appropriate one of the master flip-flop inputs R, S, to change its state. The circuit cannot oscillate because all the inverter rings in the circuit have an even number of inverter stages.
