Abstract

1482759 Coating apparatus BURROUGHS CORP 20 Nov 1974 [19 Dec 1973] 50209/74 Heading B2L [Also in Division Dl] Multi-stripe continuous coating head apparatus comprises a number of alternate blocks 12 and separators arranged side-by-side adjacent a movable pressure back-up member 60 of a device for feeding a sheet or web 46, each block having an internal cavity 22 opening outwardly and adjacent which a dam member 36 with a radiussed edge is adjustably mounted to define a slot for coating material, the separators being disposed between and flush with the bottom of each pair of adjacent blocks 12 to provide a wet seal between adjacent coating slots and the spring biassed backing plate 60 for an article or web 46 to be coated. The backing plate 60 is pivotted to a frame or table 64 for cleaning.
