Abstract

1482313 Manhole covers PONT-A-MOUSSON SA 23 June 1975, [25 June 1974] 26506/75 Heading E1G A manhole cover 2 is rotated to a locked position in its frame 4 and biassed towards the locked position by engagement of a resilient member e.g. spring 11 between a bar 8 projecting from the cover 2 and the peripheral wall of a housing 5 in the frame. As shown, cover 2 is tightened by rotation in the direction f, spring 11 being a tension spring. Alternatively, a compression spring may be located on the opposite side of bar 8 engaging the opposite wall of housing 5.
