Abstract

148,206. Mauvillier, B. June 25, 1919, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Spray carburettors.-A floatless carburettor comprises a body portion a surmounted by a cap b pravided with air-inlet apertures b<1>, and a fuel-inlet passage a' supplying a nozzle d, the fuel being controlled by a calibrated passage c. The air flow is controlled by a conical helical spring m held at its larger end under the cap b and actuated by a flexible wire f attached to a head h over which the smaller end of the spring is threaded, said head having threaded therein a rod i which carries a needle valve k for controlling the nozzle d. A disk n of leather or other flexible material may be placed under the rod i to prevent escape of fuel in the closed position of the valves. The fuel-nozzle orifice may extend through the lower as well as the upper wall of the fuel passage, the needle valve being correspondingiy lengthened. The air flows downwardly over the nozzle and the stream is divided by the bridge-piece forming the fuel passage.
