Abstract

1481716 Colour television tubes ZENITH RADIO CORP 4 Dec 1974 [12 Dec 1973] 52455/74 Heading H1D The colour selection electrode 11 of a phosphor dot colour television tube is mounted on support studs 34, secured one at each corner of the flangeless baseplate 14, by means of springs 46 secured to respective brackets 50 which externally surround and embrace the corners of the electrode. The springs 46, which carry lugs 54 to engage in recesses 52 in the support studs, are prestressed, to permit disengagement from the studs with the minimum of travel, and to preclude excessive vibration. The bracket 50 is of bimetal construction, the two parts being edge-bonded, to produce a compensating movement of the electrode relative to the screen with change of temperature. The electrode channel 22 and skirt 24 shield the screen from overscanning electrons.
