Abstract

A color cathode ray tube has a holder assembly for fixing an interchange able shadow mask on the front glass panel. The holder assembly comprises a plurality of holding plates each having an upstanding plate portion (17) and abase plate portion (18) which may preferably be affixed one to each corner of the front glass panel (11). The upstanding plate portion (17) of each holding plate is affixed to the skirt (15) of the interchangeable shadow mask (12) at each corner thereof so that a plane including the surface of the upstanding plate portion extends substantially perpendicularly to radial lines R extending from the center C of the interchangeable shadow mask. <IMAGE>
