1481028 Inflatable boats UNION-MITTELAND-GUMMI GmbH [trading as DEUTSCHE SCHLAUCHBOOTFABRIK HANS SCHEIBERT] 2 Aug 1974 [3 Aug 1973] 34233/74 Heading B7A An inflatable boat has a frame 19, e.g. of angle iron, supporting a rigid floor 29 with fish plates 11 to permit it to be suspended by slings 13, when fully loaded, for example for use as a lifeboat. The frame is surrounded by upper and lower inflatable tubes 4, 5, and there may be a central tube 10 to act as a keel. Thwarts 15 are fitted, and have ends shaped to fit between the upper and lower tubes to prevent the lower tube 4 completely collapsing if deflated. The upper tube 5 may support a framework for a canopy (Fig. 3, not shown).
