Abstract

1480175 Coated tablets NIPPON KAYAKU KK and HAYASHIBARA BIOCHEMICAL LABORATORIES INC 8 Oct 1975 [8 Oct 1974] 41271/75 Heading A5B Pharmaceutical preparations in the form of coated tablets prepared by the direct compression method comprise a pharmacologically active ingredient e.g. 2, 4'-dimethyl-3- piperidinopropiophenone or bromelain and maltose are prepared by mixing a pharmacologically active ingredient with maltose, directly compressing the mixture into tablets and coating the tablets. The coating may be sugar or cellulose acetate phthalate. The preparation may further comprise a lubricant e.g. talc, silicon dioxide powder, magnesium stearate, stearic acid or palmitic acid; an adjuvant such as crystalline lactose, mannitol, sorbitol, calcium sulphate or anhydrous calcium phosphate; and/or a disintegrant e.g. corn starch, potato-starch, calcium carboxymethyl cellulose or hydroxy propyl starch.
