Abstract

1478379 Cylinder liners GOETZEWERKE FRIEDRICH GOETZE AG 28 Nov 1974 [29 Nov 1973] 51635/74 Heading FIB A removable liner 1 is held in an I.C. engine cylinder block 3 by resilient supporting rings 7, 11 engaging liner flange 5 and by the engagement of cylinder head 2 with liner projection 9. Rings 7, 11 are respectively formed by helical spring rings 14, 15 partially surrounded by bodies 16, 17, the latter of which has an extension 19 co-operating with metal sealing plate 20 to provide a firm support for head 2 on block 3. Soft sealing rings 21 are also provided. Ring 7 has a higher resistance to deformation than ring 11.
