Abstract

1477409 Antistick treatment for photographic film FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 17 Sept 1974 [17 Sept 1973] 40568/74 Heading G2C The surface of a hydrophilic surface layer of a photographic element is treated by applying thereto a liquid comprising an organic fluoro compound, the said liquid containing no film-forming polymer. The treatment may be effected by applying a solution of the compound in a solvent or, if the compound is liquid, by applying the compound itself. The treatment reduces the tendency of the element to stick to other materials and may be applied to any hydrophilic surface layer e.g. emulsion layer, protecture, filter, antihalation, backing or image-receiving layer, or to the surface of an intermediate layer to prevent sticking during the manufacture of an element. The fluoro compounds preferably contain a perfluoroalkyl group and a hydrophilic group and a large number of monomeric and non-filmforming polymeric compounds are listed.
