Abstract

1477031 Refrigerating A CAPPELLINI and E SIGNORINI 18 June 1974 [18 June 1973 19 Oct 1973 13 May 1974] 26987/74 Heading F4H [Also in Divisions F1 and H2] In a refrigeration system, e.g. in a vehicle, in which a compressor 6 is driven by an A.C. motor connected to a D.C. supply 8 through an inverter 7 (see Division H2), a compressor motor protection by-pass 21 is provided between the compressor outlet 4 and inlet 5 and includes a solenoid valve 22 controlled by a relay in the motor supply circuit. The motor is a single-phase induction or asynchronous motor and the relay may be a current-responsive relay connected in series with the motor winding, Fig. 3 (not shown), or a voltage-responsive relay connected in parallel with the starting winding, Fig. 4 (not shown). The motor may, additionally, be supplied with a voltage and frequency of reduced levels on starting, through the inverter 7.
