Abstract

1,069,677. Gas turbine plant. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 25, 1963] No. 31197/64. Heading F1G. [Also in Division F2] In a lubricating oil cooling system for a gasturbine installation having an expansion gasturbine and a gas-fired gas-turbine unit or a set of such units acting as a gas generator or generators feeding said expansion gas-turbine, the lubricating oil from the expansion gas-turbine flows through the gas generator unit lubricating oil cooler as a coolant. In an embodiment, a lubricating oil circuit (10) of a gas-turbine unit acting as a gas generator contains a pump (12) which is driven by an electric motor (14). A lubricating oil circuit (11) of an expansion gasturbine has a pump (13) which is driven by an electric motor (15). The gas-turbine gas generator unit and the expansion gas-turbine have lubricating points (16, 17) respectively and the lubricating oil of the former turbine is cooled in a cooler (18) by the lubricating oil of the latter turbine. The lubricating oil of the expansion gas-turbine is cooled in a water/air cooled cooler (19) after leaving the lubricating points (17) and before entering the cooler (18). A quantity of lubricating oil from the expansion gas-turbine may by-pass the cooler (18) by passing through a valve (20) and pipe (21) back to the lubricating points (17). A heat-exchanger may be provided between the cooler (18) and the lubricating points (17) of the expansion gas-turbine.
