Abstract

1476957 Improved zeolitic molecular sieves DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 17 June 1974 [29 June 1973] 26650/74 Heading C1A A process for the production of a zeolitic molecular sieve in powder form with a mean particle diameter of the molecular sieve crystals of less than 2 Á comprises preparing an aluminosilicate/water synthesis mixture containing the components Na 2 O, Al 2 O 3 and SiO 2 from (1) aqueous sodium aluminate and silica sol, (2) aqueous sodium aluminate and finely divided silica, (3) aqueous sodium aluminate and silica gel, or (4) aqueous sodium aluminate having a mole ratio of Na 2 O to Al 2 O 3 of substantially 2À8 : 1 and water glass consisting of substantially 8 weight per cent of Na 2 O, 26 weight per cent of SiO 2 and 66 weight per cent of water, and hydrothermal crystallization of the synthesis mixture; the synthesis mixture being subjected, during preparation and/or between preparation and crystallization and/or during crystallization, to shearing forces of sufficient strength to produce molecular sieve particles having an average particle diameter of less than 2Á.
