Abstract

1475921 Screening apparatus BAUER BROS CO 24 May 1974 [9 Oct 1973] 23328/74 Heading BID Apparatus for dewatering sewage or fibrous slurry comprises a feed box 46 which distributes the slurry on to the uper end of a screen 52, which comprises upper portion 58, inclined at 20-35‹ to horizontal, and a horizontal portion 60 merging via upwardly convex portion 61 into inclined lower portion 62. The screen preferably comprises longitudinal bars 82 supporting wavy transverse bars 80 (Fig. 4, not shown). In Fig. 2 a roller 70 bearing rubber blades 72 is rotated clockwise to scrape the screen, squeeze the solids and feed the solids therefrom. In Figs. 1 and 3 (not shown) the roller is omitted or rotated anticlockwise to enable liquid to drain freely from the lifted solids. The screen is supported between side plates 12 and (14) which are connected by floor 16 and walls 28, 32 and 18. Shaft 68 may be adjusted towards or away from the screen.
