Abstract

1475460 Triazolobenzodiazepines UPJOHN CO 10 June 1975 [19 June 1974] 48917/76 Divided out of 1475459 Heading C2C Compounds having the general formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are each Cl to C3 alkyl or -NR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP> is pyrrolidino, piperidino, 4-methylpiperazino or morpholino, and the rings A and B are unsubstituted or substituted by one or two substituents selected from fluoro, chloro, bromo, nitro and trifluoromethyl are prepared by treating a compound of formula with a compound of the formula where Hal is chlorine or bromine, in an inert organic solvent at 25‹ to 100‹ C. to give the corresponding compound of formula and treating the product IV with hydrazine, methylamine, ethylamine, propylamine or butylamine in an inert organic solvent at 25‹ to 100‹ C. to give the required product of Formula V. The compounds of Formula V are active as antianxiety, tranquilizing and antidepressant agents.
