1474842 Coating phonograph records by vapour deposition OPTICAL & ELECTRICAL COATINGS Ltd 24 March 1975 12279/75 Heading C7F A phonograph record is coated by vapour deposition with one or more layers of e.g. Au, Cu, Cr, Al, Ni-Cr-Fe, Ni-Cr, silicon monoxide, magnesium fluoride, titanium dioxide. The record may be first cleaned by detergent or ionized oxygen. In an example a layer of Al may be coated with magnesium fluoride and then another layer of Al.
