Abstract

1474104 Cartridge operated tools POLY PATENT AG 24 May 1974 23258/74 Heading B4C [Also in Division F3] In a cartridge operated nail gun the caseless explosive tablet 33 is locatable against a seat 32 in a cartridge receiving chamber so that when a firing pin 38 enters the cartridge receiving chamber it forces part of the cartridge into a blind bore of narrower cross-section thus compressing it and causing it to detonate. The breech 30 is held in place by a catch 37 and can be removed for insertion of a charge. When the breech is struck, as by a hammer, the tool moves relative to driving piston 17 causing relative movement of the firing pin and charge. Firing barrel 12 is adjustable in position relative to the main body of the tool to take different projectiles and a resilient pad 20 is provided to cushion movement of piston 17.
