Abstract

1473789 Pneumatic tools THOMAS & BETTS CORP 7 July 1975 [22 July 1974] 28531/75 Heading B4C A pneumatically operated tool comprises an auxiliary pneumatic feed 56 for workpieces 62 acted on by shank portion 128 of a piston 122 and is formed with a main cylinder 80 having an apertured divider 100, a first piston 106 having a passageway 112 running therethrough, a second piston 122 with an extension 128 to act on the workpieces, a valve 38 movable from a first position where a second chamber 84, containing piston 122, is connected to the auxiliary pneumatic feed 56 and a second position where a first chamber 82 is connected to the auxiliary feed 56 such that as the valve goes from said first to said second position both pistons are advanced and as it is returned they are retracted. The piston 122 receives its advancing pressure through the passageway 112 in piston 106. As shown in Fig. 1 a pistolgrip tool is provided and workpieces 62 are fed to a driving chamber 64 from magazine 58 to be acted on by piston 66, (128) such that a workpiece is always located in position before the piston is projected. A pressure regulating device 36 is provided.
