Abstract

1473458 Electronic timepieces TIMEX CORP 23 June 1975 [22 July 1974] 26635/75 Heading G3T [Also in Division H1] A switch for a solid state digital watch comprises a rotatable shaft 10 having an eccentric tab 11 at one end for selectively engaging switch blades 18, 19, 21 and a spring member 34 engaging an intermediate rectangular section 13 of the shaft 10 to provide a detent and having a vase portion 36 biased against the watch case 17 to provide electrical contact therewith. The other end of the shaft 10 projects outwardly of the watch case 17 and is fixed to'a watch crown (16), Fig. 3, (not shown) which facilitates turning of the shaft 10 from an inoperative position to a position wherein the tab 11 engages any one of three beryllium-copper switch blades 18, 19, 21 fixed at one end to a printed circuit board 22. The blade 18 is coupled to logic circuits to provide a capability of selectively advancing the minutes or hours counters at 1Hz and/or to reset the seconds counters to zero. The switch blade 21 comprises the mode switch' blade and switch blade 19 is engaged by the tab 11 when the watch is to be shut down.
