Abstract

1472003 Tape measures KYOTO MEASURING INSTRUMENTS CORP 30 Oct 1974 46909/74 Heading G1M In a tape measure comprising a spring-biased flexible tape 14 adapted to be withdrawn through an aperture in a casing 1 in which it is housed, tapeasserting means is provided comprising a slidable elongate member 4 normally forced by spring 6 into engagement with the tape but displaceable away from the tape to release the tape when a button 7, contacting the member 4 and pivotally mounted on the casing at 8, is pressed. As shown, a projection 10 on the button engages a step 9 on the member 4 to move it away from the tape against the force applied by the spring 6. Walls 2, 3 formed integrally with the casing 1 serve as guides for the member 4.
