1471747 Tanning hides MONTEDISON SpA 1 Aug 1974 [3 Aug 1973] 34047/74 Heading C6C A process for tanning skins or hides comprises preceding or following a chrome or vegetable tanning by contact with a basic aluminium poly- chloride, having the general Formula: - in which m is from 1À1 to 2À1 and n is from 0À12 to 0À18. The basic aluminium polychloride used may be obtained by treating mixtures of aluminium chloride and sulphate with basic alkaline metal and/or alkaline earth metal compounds.
