Abstract

1471358 Spray producers M DRORI 5 Aug 1974 [10 Aug 1973 15 Nov 1973] 34440/74 Heading B2F [Also in Division F2] A fluid flow control device has inlet and outlet passages 4, 6 in a housing 2, connected together by a passageway 14 with which a disc 30 with a seal 34 co-operates by movement to positions to open or obstruct fluid communication between the inlet and outlet, under control of a piston 22 operating in a cylinder 20 arranced co-axially with the passageway 14, the piston and disc being connected together by means such as rods 32 extending through the passageway from the disc at the outlet to the piston on the inlet side and there being a coil spring 40 applying biasing force to open the disc and a rod 24 extending out of the cylinder, by which the disc may be manually positioned, the piston and disc having equal cross sectional areas. The device functions as a pressure regulator when the disc is open with inlet pressure forces balance between the disc and piston and the outlet pressure force applied against the spring. The regulated pressure may be applied to a spraying nozzle 56 in which the jet impinges on a spring- loaded arm 58, 60 causing its movement whereby a hammer 62, by striking a stop sets up oscillations of the arm.
